Dry Miles Recovery

Adventure & wellbeing

Lifestyle

The outdoors bit, the quiet bit, and the people bit. What Dry Miles actually looks like on an ordinary Saturday.

Out there

Movement & the outdoors

A lot of what we do involves getting outside and moving, whether that’s a walk, a run, a sea dip, or just getting out for some fresh air. We’re lucky to have the coast, beaches, countryside, and plenty of places to explore right on our doorstep.

You don’t need to be fit, fast, or experienced. Come as you are, go at your own pace, and no one gets left behind. It’s about getting outside, meeting people, and enjoying it, not how far or how fast you go.

Bring something waterproof, sensible shoes, and a few extra layers. You’ll thank me later. We will also consume a lot of coffee!

The quiet bit

Mind & wellbeing

Looking after yourself is a big part of living well. Through Dry Miles, I want to create opportunities to explore different ways of doing that: from meditation, sauna sessions, sea dips, sound baths, and Reiki to creative writing, poetry, and other activities that give you space to switch off and reconnect with yourself.

It’s about finding things that make you feel good, trying something different, and making wellbeing part of everyday life. Alongside regular activities, there’ll also be bigger wellbeing events that bring different experiences together in one place.

No pressure, no perfection: just different ways to look after your mind, body, and wellbeing.

Together

Community

At the heart of Dry Miles is community. It’s about meeting people, making friends, and having people around you who get it, without alcohol needing to be part of the equation.

You can come on your own, bring a friend, or meet people along the way. From walks and runs to sea dips, socials, and events, there are plenty of ways to get involved and find your place.

No pressure to fit in, no need to explain why you don’t drink: just good people, shared experiences, and a community you can be part of.

Further afield

Travel & adventure

I’ve always believed that getting sober shouldn’t mean your life gets smaller. If anything, it can open the door to experiences, places, and adventures you might never have imagined.

Dry Miles will bring that into the lifestyle too, with the vision of hosting weekend getaways and surf trips to retreats and group adventures, all with people who want to experience more without alcohol being at the centre of it.

I’ll also share some of the places I’ve travelled, the things I’ve discovered along the way, and a few of my favourite spots for anyone looking to explore a little differently.

A sandy beach at sunset seen from beside a wooden boardwalk, with pink clouds reflected in a stream winding out across the sand towards the sea.
  • Sydney Opera House in late afternoon sun, its white shells side-on above the harbour, seen across choppy blue water.
  • A small silver campervan parked on sandy ground at dusk with its side and rear doors open, an orange awning out over a camp chair and a low table, a surfboard lying underneath, and tall eucalyptus woodland behind.
  • Ella seen from behind in a green canoe on a still, dark forest creek, wearing a red buoyancy aid over a white t-shirt with one paddle raised, a second canoe of paddlers ahead to the left, and sunlight breaking through tall gums on the right bank.
  • Sydney Harbour Bridge at night lit in turquoise and pink, searchlight beams fanning across the sky above it, with city lights and a passing ferry reflected in the water below.

Places I’ve travelled: United States, United Kingdom, France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Turkey, Vietnam, Indonesia, Australia

Best way to see it is to come along.

Sober living keeps giving.
